Quiet Continuum I, II, III, IV

$7,600.00

Quiet Continuum is a four-piece contemporary soban work exploring continuity, light, and the quiet movement of a single gesture across separate forms.

A flowing composition of mother-of-pearl travels through four white sobans, appearing, disappearing, and re-emerging from one piece to the next. The gesture is never fully contained within a single object; instead, the spaces between the works become part of its rhythm and invite the eye to complete what is left unseen.

Against the restrained white surfaces, the natural iridescence of the mother-of-pearl shifts between subtle ivory and deep blue-green tones. As light and viewpoint change, the composition reveals different colors and depths, allowing the work to remain visually in motion even while physically still.

Rooted in the traditional Korean soban yet expressed through a contemporary visual language, Quiet Continuum reflects on connection, transition, and the possibility of continuity across separation.
